The short version: we collect the bare minimum, we don't sell anything to anyone, and your business data never leaves your computer.
850work is a desktop application. Your business data — clients, jobs, invoices, everything — lives on your computer, in a folder you control. We do not have access to it. We never see it. We cannot recover it if you lose it (so please make backups).
The only personal information we collect through 850work.com is the email address you give us when you sign up for the web-version waitlist. That's it.
We collect information in two narrow ways:
(a) Waitlist email signups. When you submit the "Notify me when the web version ships" form on 850work.com, we collect your email address. The form is processed by Formspree, a third-party form-handling service, which delivers the submission to info@850work.com.
(b) Direct correspondence. When you email info@850work.com (for support, feature requests, or anything else), we receive and store that email until we're done helping you with whatever you wrote about.
That is the complete list. We do not run analytics on 850work.com. We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not have ad networks. We do not fingerprint visitors.
Email addresses on the waitlist are used for one purpose: to send you a single email when the web version of 850work is available to try. After that one email, we will not contact you again unless you reply or you separately ask to be notified about something else.
We will never sell, rent, lease, trade, or otherwise share your email address with any third party for marketing purposes.
The 850work desktop application stores all of your business data locally on your own computer, in a folder inside the application's install directory. This includes (but is not limited to): client contact information, job records, estimates, invoices, contracts, inventory, payments, and any documents you import.
This data is not transmitted to us. We do not have a server that receives, syncs, or stores any of it. We could not retrieve your business data even if you asked us to.
Consequently:
The 850work desktop application requires a product key to run. When you activate, the application generates a fingerprint of your computer (hostname, machine architecture, and a hash derived from your network adapter) and stores it locally alongside the key, to detect if the activation file is copied to a different machine.
This fingerprint is not transmitted to us. It exists only on your computer and is used only locally.
850work is a business management tool intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where practical, post a notice on 850work.com. Continued use of the site or the desktop app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Questions about this privacy policy can go to info@850work.com. We respond when we can.
